Founders Week at Langston Hill University, established in 1947, is an annual fall tradition celebrating the legacy, vision, and resilience of the institution’s founders. Held during the first week of the semester, the event welcomes new and returning students, faculty, and alumni back to campus with a mix of parades, pep rallies, food trucks, and community gatherings. As a proud HBCU in Mississippi, Langston Hill uses the week to honor its rich history while inspiring the next generation of leaders. Founders Week is more than a celebration — it’s a reminder of the shoulders the university stands on and the future it continues to build.

Synopsis

During Founders Week at Langston Hill University, freshman journalist Naomi Brooks and her friends Trinity Ward and Cam Hill uncover a hidden underground chamber containing a decades-old ledger tied to a secret network called The Seat at the Table Collective. As they investigate the ledger’s coded history, they unravel a buried blueprint of Black innovation, economic power, and resistance that the university was built to protect. What begins as curiosity becomes inheritance, as the trio realizes they’ve stumbled onto a legacy that now demands new stewards.
